2004 NCAA Championships Update – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior thrower Dan Taylor placed third in the men’s hammer throw, while competing in day four at the 2004 NCAA Championships. Taylor posted a mark of 69.35-meters, which set a Big Ten and Ohio State record in the event. Taylor set both marks two weeks ago, while competing in the 2004 NCAA Mideast Regional Championships. Taylor returns to action later this evening at 9 p.m., as he will compete in the men’s shot put finals.
On the women’s side, junior thrower Keturah Lofton finished eighth in the women’s hammer throw with a toss of 62.37-meters. Lofton’s throw in the event, ties her existing Big Ten and Ohio State records.
Representing Ohio State later this evening will be senior Rob Myers in the 1,500-meter-run, who holds the second best time in the event. The Buckeyes also will feature, juniors Aaron Fisher and Brian Olinger in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Fisher enters the race after posting the top preliminary time in the event. Junior Rosalind Goodwin rounds out the Ohio State contingent, as she will compete in the women’s triple jump finals.
