Postgame Notes
– The game marked Ohio State’s first Big Ten home night game in program history.
– Kristi DeVries made her 12th start of the season in the game and collected her fourth game in which she did not allow a walk. She had just two such no-walk games all of last season.
– Minnesota improves to 6-2 in extra-inning games this season, while Ohio State falls to 0-2.
– The game Friday marked Ohio State’s longest by inning of the season. The Buckeyes’ previous extra-inning game was a nine-inning loss to Massachusetts Feb. 29.
– Minnesota leads the all-time series against Ohio State, 55-22.
