COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field teams played host to the opening events of the 2004 All-Ohio Track and Field Championships Friday evening in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. In its first team-scoring meet of the season, the Buckeyes posted Top 4 standings on both the men’s and women’s competitions after eight completed events. The women’s team claimed a hold of fourth-place with 20 points, while the men also occupy fourth with 18 team points. Miami (Ohio) leads the men’s competition with 44 points, while Akron bested the women’s field Friday, collecting 35 points.
The OSU women’s effort was led by junior thrower Keturah Lofton, who claimed first place in the women’s hammer with a heave of 194 feet, 1 inch (194-1), which bested teammate Tiffany Davis and her mark of 186-10.
