NOTES
– Ohio State’s nine runs are a season high, topping the previous high of seven runs scored against Cal State-Fullerton in a 7-2 victory, Feb. 29.
– Ohio State’s 12 hits are a season high, topping the previous high of nine set twice, most recently in a 4-3 win vs. Florida Atlantic Feb. 28. Of those 12 hits, four were doubles, also a new season high.
– The Buckeyes’ six RBI and three stolen bases tied their season highs in both categories.
– Ashley Cutfliff’s homerun in the fifth inning was her first homer of the season and also her first base hit of the season. Ohio State’s last two homeruns have been the first hit of the season for each player. The first player to do that this season was Christina Douglas, who hit a two-run homer vs. UMass Feb. 29 for her first hit of the season.
– Ohio State is now 5-1 in 2004 when hitting at least one homerun and 5-0 when out-hitting its opponent.
– With its win Saturday, Ohio State leads the all-time series vs. Dayton, 9-1.
