Postgame Notes
– The game Wednesday marked the first time Ohio State has faced a ranked team since a Feb. 29 win vs. No. 24 Cal State-Fullerton. The Buckeyes fall to 3-4 vs. ranked foes this season.
– For the first time since the first two days of the season, Ohio State’s Kristi DeVries started in the circle on back-to-back days. She threw a one-hit shutout vs. Saint Mary’s Tuesday. The last time DeVries made two consecutive starts in as many days was Feb. 13 and 14 at the Arizona State Fiesta Bowl Classic in Phoenix.
– Megan Schwab’s double in the third inning was her team-leading sixth of the season.
– Ashley Cutcliff’s seven-game hitting streak, which was tied for the best on the squad this season, came to an end in the game.
– The all-time series between Ohio State and Pacific is now tied at four wins for each school. These two teams last met a year ago in Hawaii, with Pacific claiming a 1-0 win.
