Postgame Notes
– Karisa Evans notched her team-leading eighth multi-hit game of the season, while Meghan Schwab and Nycole Koyano collected their seventh multi-hit games of the season.
– With a single in the first inning, Ashley Cutcliff extended her current hitting streak to six games, which is tied for the best active streak on the team with Chelsea Baker.
– Ohio State improves to 12-1 this season when scoring first and 15-0 when out-hitting its opponent.
– With two runs in the first inning, Ohio State has scored 26 runs in the first inning this season, the team’s most in any inning.
– Ohio State’s seven stolen bases are nearly double that of the team’s previous season high for thefts, which was four on two different occasions.
– Tuesday marked the first time Ohio State and Saint Mary’s have met in softball.
– Ohio State is the fourth Big Ten opponent that Saint Mary’s has faced in the last week. The Gaels hosted Purdue March 17 and faced Iowa and Wisconsin in Sacramento last weekend. Saint Mary’s is now 0-5 against the Big Ten this season.
