No. 1 Gymnastics Conclude Competition With Varsity Exhibition – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s gymnastics team held its annual tribute to past Buckeye gymnastic greats in the Varsity Exhibition Jan. 3 at Steelwood Athletic Training Facility in Columbus, Ohio. It was the final opportunity for the Scarlet and Gray to prepare for the regular season and a chance for fans to see former OSU team members compete.
Seniors Jamie Shepard (Sr., Dayton, Ohio) and Jamey Houle (Sr., Enfield, Conn.), along with junior Randy Monahan (Jr., Elizabethtown, Pa.), were voted as the 2004 team captains by their teammates. Head coach Miles Avery made the announcement prior to the competition.
Ohio State begins the regular season in Chicago at the Windy City Invitational at 7 p.m. Saturday at the UIC Physical Education Building. OSU will be competing against Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota of the Big Ten, in addition to host school Illinois-Chicago. The Buckeyes’ home opener against Minnesota is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 in St. John Arena.
