Women’s Tennis Concludes Second Day at Cissie Leary Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – Senior Jackie Leskovar (Cambridge, Ontario/N.C. State), the only Buckeye still alive in the main draw, was defeated Saturday by No. 1 seed Alice Pirsu of host Pennsylvania in the round of 16 at the Cissie Leary Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. Play concludes on Sunday, with both singles and doubles action.
In doubles, the team of Leskovar and Erica Fisk (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind./ Pike) won its second-round match, 8-1, over Milena Kachar and Molly Condit of Columbia, but was defeated in the round of eight by No. 1 seed Courtney Bergman and Susanna Lingman of Harvard.
Also in singles, Fisk advanced in the double jeopardy draw, beating Melissa Anderson of Harvard and Kristen Nowicki of Lehigh.
Ohio State resumes play Oct. 3-5 in Lexington, Ky., at the Kentucky Fall Tournament.
