OSU Men’s Cross Country Coach Places Third at United States Track and Field Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s cross country coach Robert Gary (Ohio State, 1996) posted an impressive showing Saturday at the United States Track and Field Championships. In the 3000-meter steeplechase final Gary followed up his impressive preliminary performance placing third in a time of 8:24.82.
Ohio State women’s thrower Amarachi Ukabam (fr., Creve Couer, Mo./Marquette) also posted a strong performance for the Buckeyes as she competed in the discus at the 2003 Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Ukabam highlighted the day as she posted a first place finish in the discus with a toss of 184-05.
Ohio State junior Dan Taylor (Middlefield, Ohio/Berkshire) capped an impressive 2003 campaign as he posted a mark of 66-07.00 in the shot put for sixth place.
Also competing for Ohio State in the 2003 United States Track and Field Championships were seniors Rob Myers (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union), Joel Brown (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) and Molly Logan (Darby, Pa./Penn Wood Sr.).
Logan completed her Ohio State career as she competed in the 100-meter hurdles finishing 20th in a time of 13.84.
Myers competed in the 1,500-meter run finishing 13th in a time of 3:49.41, while Brown placed 21st in the 110-hurdles in a time of 13.84. Both athletes competed Friday and missed qualifying for the semi-finals in their respective events.
