Columbus, OH – Natalia Diea (Sr., Austin, Texas/University of Texas), the 2003 NCAA Platform Diving Champion, scored a 919.65 at the 2003 World Championship Trials, April 13, at the Gabrielson Natatorium at the University of Georgia, to place fourth overall.
The finish qualified her to compete at the 2003 FINA/USA Diving Grand Prix, May 8-11, at The Woodlands, Texas, but was not enough to earn her a place on the USA World Championship Team.
Diea became the first women’s platform diving champion in Ohio State history at the 2003 NCAA Championships in Auburn, Ala., scoring a 476.65. She also became the first Buckeye to win an NCAA swimming or diving national title since 1988.
