Women’s Tennis Falls to Louisiana State, 5-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team fell to Louisiana State Sunday in Baton Rouge, La., 5-2. The Buckeyes’ two points came at No. 1 and 2 singles, as No. 59 Sadhaf Pervez (Warren, N.J.) remained perfect at No. 1 singles (12-0). Louisiana State snapped Ohio State’s season long record of earning the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches. The No. 31 Buckeyes fall to 9-3 (3-0 Big Ten) on the season as the No. 50 Tigers improve to 8-8.
Ohio State’s season long streak of clinching the doubles point was snapped at 11-consecutive matches. The Tigers swept the Buckeyes by recording victories at No. 1, 2 and 3 doubles.
The Buckeyes posted their only victories at No. 1 and 2 singles. No. 59 Pervez remains undefeated at No. 1 singles as she topped Rocio Fantilli, 6-2, 6-2. Buckeye Erica Fisk (Jr., Indianapolis, Ind.) recorded her third-consecutive win by defeating Jessica Ferguson, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Ohio State will travel to Orlando, Fla., where it will face Central Florida at the UCF Tennis Complex Wednesday.
