18th Annual Jesse Owens Track Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

ENTRY:
Entries will be handled through Direct Athletics. They can be contacted on their web page at directathletics.com. List an accurate performance mark, that is current, for each event entered. Please list all running events with FAT times. Please enter field events metrically. Since most of the events will be seeded it is necessary that you are honest in entering your athletes or relay teams performance to date. Entry marks for 2003 indoors and outdoors will be the only marks accepted. No marks from 2002 will be accepted.
DISTANCE CARNIVAL:
Friday night staring at 8pm we will be running a distance carnival designed to run fast times under the lights at Jesse Owens Stadium. Coach Robert Gary is heading up this portion of the meet and he can be contacted by e-mail at gary.08@osu.edu.
INVITATIONAL SECTIONS:
Will consist of the top nine times to compete on Saturday night. Your athletes will then be placed in the open events on Friday night if they do not make the invitational sections on Saturday.
HIGH SCHOOL SECTIONS:
For the first time we will be hosting a high school portion of the Classic starting on Saturday morning. For the relays, 400, 100, and 100/110 Hurdles we will advance the top performers to a final on Saturday night. We will also take the top 12 Boy and Girl 1600 meter times for an A race on Saturday night. This meet is sanctioned by the National High School Federation and the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
ENTRY DEADLINE:
Direct Athletics – Noon EST – Tuesday April 29th.
ENTRY LIMITS:
A maximum of 4 entries per event will be accepted per team.
ENTRY FEE:
$100.00 per team. Men and women together will be $200.00. Or you may pay individually. The fee for individual
Entry is $10.00 per event with a relay entry fee of $20.00 per event.
SCORING:
Non-scoring
TRACK:
Martin 2000 – 9 -48 inch lanes – 400 meters
Javelin, Pole Vault, Long, Triple, and High Jumps are all on Martin 2000
THROWING EVENTS:
All events accept the Javelin will be thrown at our throw facility directly across the street from the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
WEIGH-INS:
Will be conducted at the event site.
TRAINERS:
There will be an area for your trainer to set up.
