Diea to Compete at 2003 USA Diving World Championship Trials – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, OH – Natalia Diea (Sr., Austin, Texas/University of Texas) will compete at the 2003 World Championship Trials, April 10-13 at the Gabrielson Natatorium at the University of Georgia, for a spot on the 2003 USA World Championship Team, USA Diving announced Tuesday.
The qualifying session will include individual and synchronized 3-meter and platform diving. The Top 2 finishers in each event will qualify for the national team and will compete at the 10th FINA World Championships, July 13-20, in Barcelona, Spain. The Top 4 in each event also will compete at the FINA/USA Diving Grand Prix, May 8-11, at The Woodlands, Texas.
Diea is a four-time all-conference honoree and was named to the 2003 Second Team All-Big Ten after posting three Top-10 finishes in diving events at the 2003 Big Ten Championships, including a second-place performance in the platform.
Diea and the rest of the Ohio State divers will compete this Friday and Saturday, March 14-15, in Oxford, Ohio at the 2003 NCAA Diving Zone Qualifying for a chance at competing at the respective men’s and women’s 2003 NCAA Championships.
