Columbus, Ohio – Jack Warner, Ohio State track and field assistant coach, was officially named to the 2005 United States World Championships coaching staff Thursday. Warner will serve as the sprints and hurdles coach at the event held in Helsinki, Finland. Dates for the championships are to be announced in the future.
Warner, who recently was member of the coaching staff at the 2003 Pan American Junior Games in Bridgewater, Barbados and 2002 U.S. Junior World Championships held in Kingston, Jamaica, is in his 11th season with Ohio State and will be a member of his third U.S. international squad.
Warner is excited about the pending opportunity to instruct at the international level.
“I feel extremely proud to represent my country as a coach in the 2005 World Track and Field Championships,” Warner said. ” I also am honored that my peers would think of me with such high regard to select me for my third U.S. coaching assignment in four years. I also must thank The Ohio State University for allowing me the opportunity to participate in these assignments.”
Warner and the Buckeyes commence the 2004 season Jan. 10 as they play host to the Buckeye Invitational in French Field House.
