Taylor Named Big Ten Athlete of the Week for the Second Consecutive Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Ohio State thrower Dan Taylor (Jr., Mddlefield, Ohio/Berkshire) was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week, for the second consecutive week, following his performance at the Illinois Invitational.
While competing at the Illinois Invitational Taylor took first place in the shot put and weight throw, helping the Buckeyes to a first place finish. Taylor’s throws in the shot put and weight throw were good enough to rank him among the nationally.
Taylor’s throw of 19.45 meters in the shot put ranks as the best throw nationally among collegiate athletes. Taylor also placed first in the weight throw with a toss of 21.09 meters, which qualifies as third best in the nation and also set a new school record in the event.
The Buckeyes will return to action this weekend in West Lafayette, Ind. against Big Ten foes, Indiana and Purdue
