COLUMBUS, Ohio — The second day of competition is complete at the OSU/Prince Cup at the Stickney Tennis Center. In singles, Ohio State’s Erica Fisk, the No. 2 seed, and No. 4 seed Sadhaf Pervez of OSU advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.
The Buckeye duo will be joined by Eastern Michigan’s Lisa D’Amelio and No. 3 seed Alicia Salas of Notre Dame. Pervez will meet D’Amelio and Fisk will go up against Salas in the semifinals at 9:00 a.m. Sunday. The championship match will be played at about noon Sunday.
D’Amelio advanced to the semifinals with an upset of No. 1 seed Vida Mulec of Baylor in a third-set super-tiebreaker in the quarterfinals.
In doubles, the duo of Rebecca Hawkins and Lisa D’Amelio of Eastern Michigan, the No. 1 seed in the draw, and Judy Wang and Meghan Marton of Penn State will meet in the final match. The PSU duo upset Ohio State’s tandem of Pervez and Fisk, the No. 2 seed, in the quarterfinals, 8-5.
