Men’s Golf Opens Competition At Sooner Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team opened the 2002-03 campaign at the Sooner Invitational Monday and is in ninth place after two rounds. The invitational is being hosted by Oklahoma University and is being played at the Westin Stonebriar Resort in Frisco, Texas. The par 72 course measures 7,021 yards.
The Buckeyes fired a first round score of 293 then returned in the afternoon to post a score of 289 to place ninth overall with one round to go. TCU currently leads the pack with rounds of 278-273=551 putting them at 25 strokes under par as a team.
Zach Doran (Jr., Dublin, Ohio) and Darren Lundgren (So., Baldwin, Mo.) are both three under par for the Buckeyes with one round to go. Both are tied for 15th overall.
Colby Beckstrom from TCU currently leads the field firing back-to-back scores of 66 giving him a combined two-round total of 12 under par.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
