Buckeyes Finish Season At NCAA Track And Field Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

Buckeyes Dan Taylor (So., Middlefield, Ohio/Bershire) and Alexis McCall (So., Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) finished their outdoor season June 1 at the 2002 NCAA track field championships. Both individuals competed in the shot put on the final day of competition. Taylor finished tenth in the men’s shot while McCall finished nineteenth in the woman’s shot put.
Taylor, the Big Ten champion in the shot put had a throw of 18.95m which was good enough for a tenth place finish. Janus Robberts of SMU won the shot put with a throw of 21.60 m. For the women, Big Ten runner-up in the shot put, Alexis McCall threw a distance of 15.48m. and finished nineteenth. UCLA freshman Jessica Cosby won the event by throwing a distance of 17.38m.
