No. 2 Men’s Gymnastics Defends Its Big Ten Title – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio–The No. 2 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team, 218.100, finished three points ahead of second place No. 8 Michigan (215.100) to defend their Big Ten crown in Minneapolis, Minn. tonight. OSU had three events, floor exercise, pommel horse and parallel bars, in which it had the top team score. The Buckeyes were led by junior Raj Bhavsar, who won the Big Ten all-around title with his score of 56.00.
Bhavsar finished 5.575 ahead of the second place, Penn State’s Kevin Donahue, score of 54.525. The all-around titile is Bhavsar’s first of his Buckeye career. Bhavsar was the top qualifier in parallel bars (9. 300) and on rings (9.550). Fellow junior Dick Huntwork was a top qualifier as he topped the the list for floor exercise (9.675).
The Buckeyes will return to action March 23 as they will compete in the indvidual event finals at the Big Ten Championships.
