Four Buckeyes Earn All-America Honors for Track and Field – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio-Four members of the Ohio State track and field team earned All-America honors by finishing in the top eight in their respective competitions at the NCAA Indoor Championships held last weekend in Fayetteville, Ark. Weight thrower Katy Craig (Sr., Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) finished fifth with a throw of 65-06 l. Tami Smith (Jr., Galloway, Ohio/Westland) placed sixth in the high jump with a jump of 5-9 L, while Dalanda Jackson (So., Shaker Heights/Shaker Heights) earned sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.17 seconds. Teammate Alexis McCall (So., Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) finished 11th in the shot put, posting a throw of 51-6 L.%^$
%^$This season Craig helped guide the Buckeyes to a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Indoor Championships by earning her second consecutive title in the weight throw (69-3.25). She set a Big Ten Championships and career record with her toss.%^$
%^$Smith captured her second consecutive conference high jump title with a jump of 5-10. She went undefeated through the regular season.%^$
%^$Jackson had her best performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the Scarlet and Gray Invitational with a time of 8.27 seconds. Logan had her best time in the hurdles at the OSU Invitational finishing in 8.45 seconds.%^$
%^$Though McCall finished 11th at the NCAA Indoor Championships she was the eighth-highest American finisher. Three foreign competitors placed ahead of her and are not eligible for All-America honors. McCall won the Big Ten title in the shot put with a distance of 16.02 meters.%^$
