Former Buckeye Natalie Named Delaware Athlete of the Year – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State men’s gymnastics standout Jamie Natalie was named Delaware’s Athlete of the Year Jan. 31 at DuPont Country Club in Rockland, Del.
Natalie, a native of Hockessin, Del. and a graduate of A.I. du Pont High School, won his second consecutive NCAA all-around title in 2001. He was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Year after claiming the conference all-around crown to earn All-Big Ten honors for the third time in his career. Natalie was named the OSU Male Athlete of the Year in 2000 and ’01. He received the 2001 Nissen-Emery Award, given annually to the top male senior gymnast in the nation. In his career, Natalie won seven All-America accolades with top finishes at the NCAA championships.
A standout in the classroom as well, Natalie was a four-time CGA Academic All-American and OSU Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. He received a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and was Ohio State’s Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient, given to the top senior scholar-athlete. Natalie currently is in medical school at Ohio State.
Natalie led the Buckeyes to the 2001 Big Ten and NCAA Championships.
