Women’s Swimming & Diving Defeats West Virginia/Louisville – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio— The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team won its second and third meets of the season Friday in Morgantown, W.Va. Ohio State defeated host West Virginia 122-112 and then took a 149-85 decision over Louisville in the double-dual meet.
Nicole Maglich (Fr., Sarasota, Fla./Sarasota) stepped up for the Buckeyes by winning four events. She won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:18.47, won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:04.84 and won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:07.54. She was also a member of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay.
Also, performing well for the Buckeyes was Deanna Strunk (Fr., West Lawn Pa./Wilson), who also won two events for the Buckeyes, taking top honors in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.92 and the 400-yard Individual Medley in a time of 4:29.27. Katie Severson (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West) also swam the team’s top time for the year in the 50-yard freestlye, winning the event in a time of 24.80.
In addition, Stephanie Raezar (Jr., Newark, Del./Glasgow) won the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 2:24.68, her best-ever time by four seconds.
In diving, Rachel Pichcaz (Fr., Sergeantsville, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) came in fifth place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 211.25. Pichacz also came in fourth for the 3-meter dive with a score of 212.35.
