Buckeye Softball Set To Scrimmage Akron Saturday – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Linda Kalafatis, head coach of the Ohio State softball team, announced the Buckeyes and Zips will meet in a scrimmage game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on the indoor practice field of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The scrimmage is open to the public and will last until 6 p.m.
“This scrimmage will be a tune-up for us before we head into the start of a new season,” Kalafatis said. “It will give us a chance to face pitchers and hitters from another team and allow us to work on a few things before we hit the road next week.”
The Buckeyes open the season with a trip to Northridge, Calif., and the California State-Northridge Tournament, Feb. 8-10. OSU will face the University of San Diego at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 8 to open the three day event. Also participating in the event are the host Matadors, Oregon State and McNeese State.
