Hoosiers Defeat Buckeyes in Big Ten Opener, 171-69 – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio-The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team was defeated by the Indiana Hoosiers Saturday by the score of 171-69 in Bloomington, Ind. The loss drops the Buckeyes record to 3-6 on the season and 0-1 in the Big Ten.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Kylie Lancken, Lindsay Goodson (So., Sam Ramon, Calif.), Katie Kolles (Fr., Edina, Minn.) and Kristin Sander (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio) placed first with a time of 3:36.30.
Second place finishers for the Buckeyes included Stephanie Raezer (So., Newark, Del.) in the 1650 freestyle (17:10.31), Kristin Sendrowski (Sr., Garden City, N.Y.) in the 200 butterfly (2:03.99), Katie Severson (So., Cincinnati, Ohio) in the 100 freestyle (52.55) and Erika Staley (Jr., Piqua, Ohio) in the 200 breastroke (2:27.02).
Melanie Johnson (Jr., Boca Raton, Fla.) took third in the 3-meter dive with a score of 295.80.
The Buckeyes return to action at home Friday they play host to Kenyon College at 5 p.m. at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center in Larkins Hall.
