2001 Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic Softball Tournament – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State softball team, coming off a school-record 46-18 season and its first-ever appearance at the Big Ten Tournament last spring, will open the fall season Friday-Sunday, Sept. 28-30, at the 2001 Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic in Akron, Ohio.
All 11 Division I softball programs in Ohio (OSU, Akron, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Dayton, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Toledo, Wright State, Youngstown State) will participate in the Charity Classic, marking the first time every Ohio school has been involved in the same event.
Proceeds from the Charity Classic, co-hosted by Ohio State softball and the Akron Racers of the National Fastpitch Softball Association, will benefit breast cancer research.
Games will be played at Firestone Stadium and neighboring Pony Field (80 West Bowery St., Akron, Ohio 44308.).
