Volleyball Captures Buckeye Invitational With Win Over Ohio – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 16th-ranked Ohio State (3-0) women’s volleyball squad overcame a first game loss to Ohio (0-3) to win the next three and captured the championship of the Buckeye Invitational. The 3-0 (28-30, 30-13, 30-19, 30-24) victory. The OSU win was highlighted by an outstanding performance of the Tournament Most Valuable Player, Anne Botica (Sr., Windsor, Ontario) who had match-highs of 19 kills and digs and added three ace serves and three blocks against the Bobcats. Suzie Stiling (Jr., Glenview, Ill.), a member of the All-Tournament Team had 14 kills, eight assist blocks, seven digs and three ace serves in the match. Bobcat Katie Smith (Fr., Downers Grove, Ill.) had a team-high nine kills for Ohio.
Ohio State hit .255 for the match to OU’s .075. The Buckeyes had a 13 to six advantage in ace serves and outdug the Bobcats, 67-58. OSU added a 12-9 margin in blocks.
