COLUMBUS, Ohio — Seventeen former members of the Ohio State men’s and women’s golf teams will return to Columbus Monday to play in the annual Buckeye Pro-Am Classic on OSU’s majestic Scarlet Golf Course.
The group of former Buckeyes, many of whom are now playing on the PGA and LPGA tours, includes co-chairs Ted Tryba and Amy Langhals, John Cook, Joey Sindelar, Chris Smith, Ed Sneed, Chris Wollmann, Cathy Gerring, Rosie Jones and Meg Mallon.
The 17 teams (each team is comprised of four amateurs and a pro) will play a team best-ball format. A shotgun start is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the par 72 course, which plays at 7,141 yards from the back tees.
This is the 16th year for the Buckeye Pro-Am Classic. Money raised from the event goes to benefit the men’s and women’s golf teams and the Ohio State golf courses. To date, more than $1.3 million has been raised.
The low individual round in the Pro-Am Classic belongs to former Buckeye Tom Weiskopf, who shot a 7-under-par 65 in 1995.
The one-day event is open to the public.
