COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kristy Dascoli (Sr., Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Academy) was selected as the Big Ten Women’s Tennis Athlete for the Month for March. Dascoli, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year, faced superior competition in the month of March and rose to the occasion time and again as she compiled a 5-1 record at the No. 1 singles spot.
Her lone blemish came to one of the nation’s best players, No. 3 Michelle Dasso of Notre Dame. Other than the one loss, Dascoli dominated her opponents en route to five huge March wins. She is 21-10 on the year and stands 4-0 in conference play. Her 21 wins lead the team and she is ranked No. 32 in the nation.
Dascoli and the Buckeyes are in action again this weekend. Saturday the Buckeyes host Michigan at 10 a.m. and then return to the courts Sunday for a 10 a.m. showdown with Michigan State. Both matches will be played at the Stickney Tennis Center.
