Softball Falls to Wisconsin, 1-0, to Split Twin Bill – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team (40-15 overall, 11-5 in the Big Ten) will have to postpone celebration of breaking the school record for wins in a season at least until later in the weekend.%^$
%^$Looking to break its tie with 1994 Buckeyes that notched a 40-20 record, OSU was looking to break the record in Madison, Wisc., after taking game one of a doubleheader with the Badgers, 8-2. The Buckeyes were held to two hits in game two, however, and never really posed a scoring threat.%^$
%^$Andrea Kirchberg improved her record to 17-10 with a two-hit, six-strikout performance. Kristi DeVries took the loss for OSU, allowing eight hits and one run with two strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. DeVries is now 14-6 for the season.%^$
%^$”Kirchberg was tough today,” Linda Kalafatis, OSU head coach, said. “We couldn’t get anything going offensively, and the one run they got early held up.”%^$
%^$Wisconsin third baseman Sheena Padovan singled to center field to bring home leftfielder Anna Jones for the only run of the afternoon. Jones had reached on a fielder’s choice andmovedto second on an error.%^$
%^$OSU will face Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., Saturday at 6 p.m. (central) in game one of a two-day set.
