Distance Runners Compete Against Best In The Nation – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio–Ohio State distance runners Derrick Butler (So., Cincinnati, Ohio), Jon White (So., Sylvania, Ohio) and Katy Stevens (Jr., Upper Arlington) competed against the top athletes in the nation during the second day of the Sea Ray Relays, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Tom Black Track in Knoxville, Tenn. All three runners competed in distance invitational events.
Butler, ranked seventh going in to the 10,000-meter run, pulled out a third-place finish with a time of 30:12.70, which beats his personal best, 30.21.00. White, in his first distance event this season, earned an eighth-place finish among the field of 24 with a time of 31:22.95.
Stevens, participating in her first 5000-meter invitational this year, recorded a 11th place finish with a time 17:43.98, less than one minute from the NCAA provisional time of 16:48.
The Sea Ray Relays are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Friday and conclude Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
