OSU Men’s Golf In Fourth Place At Matlock Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State men’s golf team finished round one today with the score of 307 to tie for fourth place with Georgia Southern at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. The tournament is hosted by Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla. at the Grasslands Golf and Country Club (par 72, 7,065 yards).
Mike Austin (Sr., Burton, Mich./ Flint Powers Catholic) led for the Buckeyes with a round-one score of 75 to stand in seventh place. Jason Oien (Jr., New Albany, Ohio/Westerville North) and Ryan Dennis (Jr., Stow, Ohio/ Walsh Jesuit) are in a tie for 17th place with the score of 77. David Wagenseller (Jr., Wilmington, Ohio/ Wilmington) shot a round-one total of 78 for 25th place and Chris Emanuel (Sr., Ottumwa, Iowa/ Ottumwa) finished round one with the score of 80 and in 47th place.
Stanford is in the lead after round one with the score of 298. Alex Argon of Stanford and Alex Renard of Florida Southern are in a tie for the first place individuals with the score of 71.
The Buckeyes will continue with round two and three tomorrow to complete the Matlock Classic.
