Senior Co-Captains Spread Knowledge to Local School – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio— Buckeye senior co-captains Jamie Natalie (Sr., Hockessin, Del.) and Daren Lynch (Sr., Londonderry, N.H.) spent part of Monday, Feb. 24 at Worthington Hills Elementary School. The duo spoke to the school’s 6th grade class about the pressures of student athletics. Both gymnasts have first-hand experience on the subject, having excelled in both the gym and the classroom during their four years at Ohio State. Natalie is ranked No. 2 in the nation on all-around and third on parallel bars and high bar this season, after claiming three All-America honors in 2000. Lynch is tied for first on still rings and tied for fourth on vault. He won All-America honors on vault in 2000. Lynch and Natalie are both Big Ten Academic All-Americans as well.%^$
%^$”Spending the morning in Mrs. Jones class was great. The students had an oppurtunity to learn what it was like to be a Student-Athlete at Ohio State while Jamie and I had the pleasure of conversing with some very bright and energetic kids.” Lynch said.%^$
%^$Lynch and Natalie explained some of the challenges and rewards of student-athletic life at Ohio State and fielded questions from the class.%^$
