Women’s Swimming Pulls Off Nailbiter, 152-148, Over Oakland In Record-Setting Night – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team (6-7) defeated Oakland, 152-148, in a record-setting night.
Amanda Treleaven (Fr., Colonel Light, Australia/Norwood) set two new records, just missed three, as the Buckeyes went on to defeat Oakland, 152-148. Treleaven finished in first place while setting a new pool record of 1:49.62 in the 200 Freestyle, shattering the old record (1:49.90) held by 2000 Olympian Kim Black. In the first leg of the 400 Medley Relay, Treleaven also set a new school record of :56.42, beating an old time of :56.63, held by Julie Hutzler. Treleaven took first place in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:00.35, this time qualified her as an NCAA B-cut, also just missing the school record of 2:00.33. Kristin Sendrowski (Jr., Garden City, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) won the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:04.97.
On the boards, Natalia Diea (Jr., Austin, Texas/Texas University) swept both the 1-meter dive (298.73) and 3-meter dive (306.15).
The Buckeyes are in action again at the Big Ten Championships, Feb. 15-17, in Bloomington, Ind.
