Natalie Named Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio–Buckeye senior Jamie Natalie (Sr., Hockessin, Del.) was named the Big Ten’s Co-Gymnast of the week after posting season high scores against Michigan State Feb. 9 in St. John Arena. Natalie won four events including the floor exercise (9.300), vault (9.450), parallel bars (9.350) and high bar (9.200). He also took the all-around crown with an NCAA high score of 55.450. Natalie’s stellar night drove the Buckeyes to a team score of 216.450, the highest score recorded in the NCAA this season.Natalie continued his dominating performance over the weekend as the Buckeyes visited Minnesota and Iowa Feb. 16 and 17 respectively. Against the Golden Gophers, Natalie placed first on high bar, second on still rings and third in the floor exercise. He also placed second in the all-around competition with a 53.425. Natalie took first place in floor exercise against the Iowa Hawkeyes and won the all-around with a score of 53.200. He placed second on pommel horse and still rings, and was third on parallel bars.
Natalie’s award is his first, and the first awarded to an OSU gymnast, this season. Natalie shared the honor with Penn State’s Chris Lakeman.
