No. 2 Men’s Gymnastics Sweeps Weekend With Big Win at Iowa – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team picked up its second win of the weekend, defeating No. 7 Iowa 211.550-206.200 Saturday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. The win came one night after the Buckeyes downed No. 8 Minnesota, 211.325-209.775, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Jamie Natalie (Sr., Hockessin, Del.) won the all-around title to lead Ohio State. Natalie scored 53.2 to capture the crown, earning Top-3 finishes in four of six events. Natalie won the floor exercise (9.15), took runner-up honors on pommel horse (9.05) and still rings (9.0) and added a third-place mark on parallel bars (8.7).
Raj Bhavsar (So., Houston, Texas), finished second in the all-around (52.0), winning the parallel bars event (8.85) while earning a second-place finish on the horizontal bar (8.850), as he finished one-tenth of a point shy of teammate Jay Nardelli (Centerville, Va.). Nardelli added a third-place finish on still rings (8.8), while Bhavsar recorded third-place finishes on pommel horse (8.95) and vault (8.9).
Daren Lynch (Sr., Londonderry, N.H.) won the still rings event with a 9.3 and took second on parallel bars (8.7). Jamey Houle (Fr., Enfield, Conn.) added a second-place finish on floor exercise, scoring a career-best 8.85. Dick Huntwork (So., Pickerington, Ohio) notched third-place finishes on floor (8.8) and horizontal bar (8.8).
The Buckeyes (9-3) return to action Saturday at 7 p.m., hosting Penn State in a co-ed meet in St. John Arena.
