Women’s Tennis Completes Day One At Midwest Blast – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State women’s tennis team began competition at the fourth annual Midwest Blast Tournament in Champaign, Ill. on Friday. The University of Illinois hosts the event and all matches are being played at the Atkins Tennis Center. The tournament is played in the dual-match format, but does not count toward team records. Joining OSU in the field is host Illinois, Georgia Tech and Baylor.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes competed against Baylor in singles competition and played both Baylor and Georgia Tech in doubles. In singles, OSU was a combined 4-5. Meaghan Colville (So., Toronto, Ontario/Western Michigan) posted two singles win for the Buckeyes.%^$
%^$In doubles, OSU was a combined perfect 5-0. Coach Chuck Merzbacher juggled up his pairings a little bit, but it proved to be the right move as the Buckeyes swept the competition. Sadhaf Pervez (Jr., Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) paired with both Monica Rincon (Sr., Lapeer, Mich./West) and Erica Fisk (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) to record wins.%^$
