Ohio State Softball Ranked 31st in NFCA Academic All-Team rankings – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State softball team ranked 31st in the 2000-01 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Academic Team standings with a team grade point average of 3.190. The Buckeyes are one of just 56 teams to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
OSU was one of four Big Ten teams with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Iowa checked in with a 3.214 GPA. Michigan State and Indiana both had a 3.090 GPA.
OSU was 46-18 last season, setting a program-record for most wins in a season.
“We did a lot of things right last season, as our record indicated,” Kalafatis said. “This ranking demonstrates that our players are dedicated in their studies also. It is great to see them recognized for their accomplishments in both areas.”
The Buckeyes open up the season Feb. 8-10, 2002, in Northridge, Calif., at the California State Northridge Tournament.
