Women’s Tennis Has Strong Showing At Day Two Of Midwest Blast Tournament – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State women’s tennis team completed day two of competition at the fourth annual Midwest Blast Tournament in Champaign, Ill. on Saturday. The University of Illinois hosts the event and all matches are being played at the Atkins Tennis Center. The tournament is played in the dual-match format, but does not count toward team records. Joining OSU in the field is host Illinois, Georgia Tech and Baylor.
In singles competition, seven different Buckeyes claimed victories and the team combined to post an 8-2 record. Leading the charge was Lindsay Bryan (Fr., New Orleans, La./Ursuline), who won two matches on the day. She was the only Buckeye to play two matches on the day.
In doubles, OSU was a combined 3-2. Sadhaf Pervez (Jr., Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) paired with Erica Fisk (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) to record a win. Monica Rincon (Sr., Lapeer, Mich./West) teamed with Meaghan Colville (So., Toronto, Ontario/Western Michigan) for the first time this season. The duo won, 8-2.
The tournament concludes Sunday.
