Men’s Golf In Second After Two Rounds of Taylor Made Red River Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State men’s golf team is three shots back after two rounds at the Taylor Made Red River Classic in Dallas, Texas. The Buckeyes shot an 11-under team score of 277 in round one and then a 4-under 288 in round two to trail the University of Texas (276-282=558) heading into the final round Tuesday.
Four Buckeyes are below par at the Dallas Athletic Club (par 72, 6,766 yards) after the first day of competition.
Leading the way for Ohio State were seniors Doug Wade (Lima, Ohio/Lima Central Catholic), Ryan Dennis (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) and Jason Oien (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North). Wade is tied for third place at 7-under par (68-69=137). He has shot three-consecutive rounds in the 60s and four-consecutive rounds under par after his second-place finish at the Ping/Golfweek Preview Sept. 28-30 in Columbus.
Dennis (72-69=141) and Oien (69-72=141) are tied for 15th at 3-under par. Dennis has a streak of four rounds at even par or below. Junior Justin Collins (Ironton, Ohio/Ironton) fired a 2-under 142 (68-74). He also has four-consecutive rounds of even par or better this fall.
Jason Hartwick of Texas leads the event at 13-under (65-66=131).
The teams will play an additional 18 holes Tuesday to complete the 54-hole event.
