Gray Wins Both Ends of Co-ed Intrasquad Meet – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State men’s and women’s swimming teams opened up the 2001-02 season with an intrasquad meet at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center in Larkins Hall.
The Gray squad defeated the Scarlet team, 116-84, on the men’s side. The Gray women were also victorious over the Scarlet, 94-89. Both coaches were very pleased with their squad’s performance in preparation for the upcoming season.
“I was really happy,” women’s head coach Jeanne Fleck said. “I feel like our upperclassmen are way ahead of where they were last year. That has a lot to do with buying into the program and believing in where they are going. Their attitude was really great tonight.”
Men’s head coach Bill Wadley shared the same remarks about his squad.
“It’s early and we still have a lot of work to do,” Wadley said. “We’ve got a lot of young guys. I love their attitude and their efforts. But we still have our work cut out for us before we start the real competition.”
Both the men and women Buckeyes will open the season Oct. 26 at Ohio University.
