Buckeyes Advance to Semifinals at National Clay Courts – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – %^$The Ohio State women’s tennis doubles team of Kristy Dascoli (Sr., Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Academy) and Monica Rincon (Jr., Lapeer, Mich./West) recorded a victory in the quarterfinal round of the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships today. The tournament, the opening leg of the collegiate grand slam, is being held at the Suburban Club of Baltimore County in Pikesville, Md. It will continue Saturday with the semifinals.%^$
%^$After losing the first set in a tiebreak, No. 8-ranked Dascoli and Rincon, the No. 4-seed in the tournament, posted a win over No. 20 Ashleigh Doman and Maria Galoustova of Oklahoma State in the quarterfinals, 6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-1. The OSU duo will face No. 2-seed and No. 5-ranked Janet Bergman and Bea Bielik of Wake Forest in the semifinals.%^$
%^$No. 33 Dascoli posted wins in the first two rounds of the consolation draw. She defeated Kentucky’s No. 95-ranked Carolina Mayorga in the first round before beating No. 43 Martina Nedelkova of Virginia Commonwealth in the quarterfinals. She will go up against Baylor’s Vida Mulec in the semifinals.%^$
