Women’s Tennis Falls in Qualifying of National Clay Courts – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State women’s tennis players Monica Rincon (Jr., Lapeer, Mich./West) and Sadhaf%^$ Pervez (So., Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) each fell in qualifying for the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate%^$ Clay Court Championships. The tournament, which is the opening leg of the collegiate grand slam, is being%^$ held at the Suburban Club of Baltimore County in Pikesville, Md.%^$
%^$ Pervez posted a first-round win over Lourdes Riusech of American by default to advance to the second round.%^$ She was then defeated by Maren Haus of Wake Forest, 8-2. Rincon was defeated in the first round by%^$ Kentucky’s No. 83-ranked Brooke Skeen, 8-4.%^$
%^$ No. 33 Kristy Dascoli (Sr., Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Academy) will compete in the singles main draw, while%^$ the tandem of Dascoli and Rincon, the No. 8-ranked duo, will participate in the doubles main draw. The main%^$ draw will be held Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 21-24.
