Softball Shut Out in Consolation Final against Bowling Green, 2-0 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In an all-Ohio consolation finals, the Ohio State softball team fell to Bowling Green, 2-0 today at the 2000 Golden Panther Invitational in Miami, Fla. The Buckeyes now drop to 7-8 for the season, while the Falcons improve to 3-3 overall and capture the consolation finals.%^$
%^$Bowling Green captured the 2-0 win early in the second inning as Nikki Rouhana notched a single into the left field to score Colleen Bates. Two batters later, Libby Vorshell followed with a grounder into center field to score Rouhana.%^$
%^$Bowling Green’s Andrea Genter held the Buckeyes to two hits in seven innings of play and struck out three. Freshman pitcher Katie Chain fell to 3-2 for the season.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. for the Winthrop Invitational, March 17-19.%^$

%^$Ohio State ended the tournament with a 2-4 record.%^$
%^$Anna Smith led the team with a .357 batting average and two stolen bases.%^$
%^$After, missing 32 games last season, Natalie Woods made two appearances for the Buckeyes this weekend, batting 2-for-5 and a batting average of .400.%^$
%^$In the Buckeyes’ win against Robert Morris, Sarah West blasted two home runs in the 7-0 triumph, a career-first.
