Women’s Tennis Falls to Iowa, 5-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 31 Ohio State women’s tennis team lost its first conference match of the spring, falling, 5-2, to Iowa Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa. The Buckeyes dropped to 8-6 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten.
The Buckeyes claimed two singles matches in the contest. OSU’s Kristy Dascoli (Jr., Bradenton, Fla.) won over Shera Wiegler in two sets, while Laura Maloney (Jr., Barrington, Ill.) recorded a victory at No. 5 over Erica Johnson. Monica Rincon (So., Lapeer, Mich.) suffered a three-set loss to Iowa’s Toni Neykova at No. 2.
After seven-consecutive road matches, the Buckeyes return home to face Penn State, Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Stickney Tennis Center.
