Women’s Tennis Tops Wisconsin, 5-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 31 Ohio State women’s tennis team stayed undefeated in conference play with a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin, Saturday in Madison, Wis. The Buckeyes improved to 8-5 on the season, 2-0 in the Big Ten, while the Badgers fell to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Wisconsin claimed the doubles point after winning two of three matches to start the match. Kristy Dascoli (Jr., Bradenton, Fla.) and Monica Rincon (So., Lapeer, Mich.) recorded Ohio State’s only doubles win with an 8-6 victory at No. 1 over April Gabler and Lara Vojnov.
The Buckeyes were strong in singles, winning five of six singles matches to clinch the victory. Sadhaf Pervez (Fr., Warren, N.J.) and Laura Maloney (Jr., Barrington, Ill.) each recorded three-set victories for Ohio State.
The Buckeyes play their second consecutive conference match when they travel to Iowa City, Iowa to face the Hawkeyes at 11 a.m.
