Ohio State Softball Blanked By No. 11 Cal-State Fullerton, 6-0 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team fell, 6-0, to No. 11-ranked Cal-State Fullerton at the Titan Softball Complex in Fullerton, Calif. Stacy Roth posted Ohio State’s only hit in the top of the seventh as the Titans’ Gina Oaks struck out 15 Buckeyes for her ninth win of the season.
Kristi Martin fell to 5-6 for the season, giving up four runs, one walk and striking out one. Katie Chain relieved Martin in the second inning, but was unable to hold the Titans as she pitched 3.2 innings, gave up two runs and struck out eight.
The Titans began their run early in the second as Jodie Cox doubled into right field to score Monica Lucatero. Cox would also belted a home run in the third to secure the win for the Titans. The Titans now improve to 25-7 for the season.
The Buckeyes will compete in their first home game of the season at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 in a doubleheader against Miami (O.).
