No. 2 Men’s Gymnastics Falls to No. 3 Penn State – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to No. 3 Penn State, 229.025-228.500, Saturday night in State College, Pa. The Buckeyes (13-1) won three of the six events in the meet.
The Buckeyes claimed the top spot in four events, led by Jamie Natalie’s (Jr., Hockessin, Del.) victories on both the floor exercise (9.875) and the high bar (9.825). Natalie also placed second in the all-around and was third on the rings. Raj Bhavsar (Fr., Houston, Texas) won the parallel bars with a score of 9.750, while Daren Lynch (Jr., Londonderry, N.H.) used a career-high 9.875 to win the vault title.
Bhavsar turned in two other top three performances, as he was second on the still rings and third on the pommel horse. Lynch took the second spot on the parallel bars, while Michael Evans (Fr., Houston, Texas) placed third on the high bar with a career-high 9.625. Michael Morgan (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio) placed second on the floor exercise and the vault.
“This was our worst meet of the year,” Ohio State head coach Miles Avery said. “We came here and did a poor job.”
The meet ended the Buckeyes’ dual meet season. The squad will next compete March 17-18 at the Big Ten Championships in East Lansing, Mich.
