Roth Named to Campbell/Cartier Softball Classic All-Tournament Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sophomore catcher Stacy Roth was named to the all-tournament team after an outstanding performance at the San Diego State Campbell/Cartier Softball Classic last weekend. In the tournament, Roth went 6-for-14, posted five RBI and one home run last weekend to help the Buckeyes defeat Pacific (7-6) and Sacramento State (3-2). Roth now leads the Buckeyes with an overall batting average of .379 and seven RBI for the season.
“It’s great to see Stacy get honored after her exceptional weekend,” head coach Linda Kalafatis said. “There were many great players and teams at this tournament so this is true indication of what kind of player Stacy is and yet this is only the beginning of what she is capable of. Of course she was set up wonderfully by her teammates and she produced. She has unlimited potential as a Buckeye.”
The Buckeyes (5-4) will next compete at the Florida International Tournament, March 3-5, in Miami, Fla. Ohio State opens the tournament against Florida Atlantic (11 a.m.) and Pittsburgh (1 p.m.) on March 3.
