Women’s Swimming finishes 10th at Big Ten Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio— Ohio State women’s swimming and diving placed 10th at the Big Ten Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Minnesota won the three-day event, which concluded on Saturday.
The Buckeyes were led by divers Holly Underwood (So., Conroe, Tex.) and Carrie Ziebarth (Sr., Auburn, Wash.).
Underwood won the three-meter dive with a score of 498.15 on Friday, giving OSU its second event winner. Ziebarth won the one-meter dive on Thursday with a score of 412.50. Melanie Johnson (So., Boca Raton, Fla.) placed third in the one-meter dive (403.95) and seventh in the three-meter (452.30) and Jillian Cicione (Fr., Plantation, Fla.) placed eighth in the three-meter (445.30).
On Friday Erica Staley (Fr., Piqua, Ohio) placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.93) and Heidi Hazen (Sr., Mentor, Ohio) finished seventh in the 100 butterfly (:55.58). The 200 Medley Relay team of Ann Stephens (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio) Staley, Hazen and Kristen Sander (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio) placed 10th with a time of 1:46.06.
