Women’s Volleyball Katie Virtue Named To AVCA Mideast All-Region Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Katie Virtue (So., St. Charles, Ill./St. Francis) has been selected to the Mideast All-Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. She was one of 12 players selected in the region that had 10 Big Ten players honored. A total of eight regions represent the country.
Ohio State is 26-6 overall and with Virtue playing, 25-4. She averages 14.33 assists, 2.55 digs, .65 blocks and .30 aces per game this season. Over the last seven weeks she has played in 11 of 14 matches with a stress fracture in her left foot.
Ohio State returns to action this Friday, Nov. 7, in the NCAA Central Regional at Lincoln, Neb., where the Buckeyes face top-ranked Nebraska (30-0) in a regional semifinal at 8:30 p.m. Eastern. Brigham Young (26-6) faces Arizona (27-4) in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. Eastern. The winners return Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern to play for a berth in the NCAA Championship semifinals in Richmond, Va.
